Mulled Gin

Mulled Gin

I was in two minds about including this recipe for Mulled Gin since it is similar to other recipes we have already published, but after tasting it I can confirm that it is rather good and worthy of it’s inclusion. Don’t let the lengthy list of spices put you off trying it, I have a top tip down below which makes it all far easier.

This recipe was taken from the BBC Good Food website and you’ll see that you have to make four portions and that you have to do some cooking. Not fancy cooking but nevertheless, far more involved than our method.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Gordons Gin
  • ½ lemon, sliced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 Clove
  • 1 Cardamom pod, lightly crushed
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 1 Juniper berry, lightly crushed
  • 1/4 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1tsp Honey
  • Apple juice to top up

Method:

  1. Put all of the ingredients into your Milk Frother and then top up with apple juice to the max mark.
  2. Replace the lid and then press the start button and wait until finished.
  3. Meanwhile, heat up your glass using hot water from a kettle.
  4. When your milk frother has finished, empty the water out of the glass and fill with your strained Hot Cocktail.
  5. Enjoy your Mulled Gin.

Mark’s Top Tip: Try using 30ml of Mulled Fruit Winter Warmer Syrup instead of the long list of spices. Just add the gin, syrup and honey and then top off with the apple juice. Fine-tune the ratios, some apple juices are sweet enough that you don’t need to add any sweetening.

Drink responsibly and enjoy
