Bloody Hot Mary

Sometimes I feel like an author with “Writers Block” when trying to find inspiration for a new Hot Cocktail recipe but this idea for a Hot Bloody Mary just jumped out at me in the middle of the supermarket. Had to rush home to make it. And then I made another!

I borrowed the Bloody Mary recipe off of the BBC Good Food website, scaled it back to suit a single serving and then added it all into the milk frother. Luckily I had some Tabasco Sauce which hadn’t been used yet, purchased because it said Smoky Chipotle flavour and then hidden at the back of the cupboard by someone who isn’t keen on hot spicy sauces.

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Vodka
  • 1 tsp lemon juice, plus 2 slices to serve
  • A shake of Worcestershire sauce
  • A shake Tabasco (smoked Tabasco is nice)
  • Pinch celery salt
  • Pinch black pepper
  • Tomato juice to fill
  • Celery stick, to serve

Method:

  1. Put all of the ingredients into your Milk Frother and then top up with the tomato juice to the max mark.
  2. Press the start button and wait until finished.
  3. Meanwhile, heat up your glass using hot water from a kettle.
  4. When your milk frother has finished, empty the water out of the glass and fill with your Hot Cocktail.
  5. Enjoy your Bloody Hot Mary.

Mark’s Top Tip: This really hit the spot. It started off as a very tasty tomato soup like drink and then turned into a raging inferno of Tabasco, Worcestershire and Vodka. Very powerful stuff and very drinkable. So I made a second and third… Nothing to do with accidentally putting too much vodka in the first one.
