Best Milk Frothers 2021

We’ve been reviewing a wide range of milk frothers this year and here are our results.

All of the milk frothers, with the exception of the Ambiano which we had already, were ordered from Amazon and paid for in full by Hot Cocktails. These machines have been rated, not only for how suitable they are for making Hot Cocktails, but also, for how well they do the job they were originally designed for. Let us know if we haven’t reviewed your milk frother yet.

I fully intended to go into the testing with a long list of things to check and measure but it quickly became apparent that we could simplify things. The power ratings had no effect on how quickly they warmed up, infact one of the lowest power frothers was also the quickest. I thought having a pouring spout would be important, it made no difference at all.

None of the milk jugs can be submerged in liquid, they all contain electrical parts so a damp cloth wipeover of the externals (whilst unplugged) is all that should be needed. It should go without saying that the electrical bases should not be put in water.

All of the frothers were very similar sizes, those without handles took up less space than those with but they were all about 190mm high and 80mm to 90mm wide. Those with the slightly wider body did make it slightly easier to get your hand in for cleaning but we’re splitting hairs here.

None of them were noisy, one agitated the liquid more than the others so it ‘gurgled’ but it wasn’t obtrusive. The milk jugs all had non stick innards. It was just a few little points that made some stand out more than others and they have been summarised on a table at the bottom of the page. 

All of the frothers were made in China and some possibly from the same factory, some of the 360° bases were certainly from the same manufacturer.

Not one milk frother was a let down, you’d be proud to have any one of them. All of them will make you a delicious Hot Cocktail at home in minutes, what more could you ever need?
