Playing on the ‘Tart’ flavouring of cranberry juice I thought that I would up the stakes and add in Aperol and then soften it with a touch of Winter Spice Syrup. I’m pleased to say that after a few false starts this recipe has now been perfected and is the perfect go-to pick me up. This is my Bitter & Twisted cocktail, other variations may be out there.
Ingredients:
- 25ml Brandy
- 25ml Aperol
- 60ml Cranberry juice
- 25ml Winter Spice Syrup
- Orange juice to top up
Method:
- Put the brandy, Aperol, Winter Spice Syrup and cranberry juice into your Milk Frother and then top up with orange juice to the max mark.
- Replace the lid and then press the start button and wait until finished.
- Meanwhile, heat up the glass using hot water from your kettle.
- When your milk frother has finished, empty the water out of the glass and fill with your Bitter & Twisted Hot Cocktail.
Mark’s tip of the day:- You might want to add in a touch of extra sugar. I enjoyed it as it was but everyone’s taste is different. The orange notes from the Aperol and orange juice would perfectly suit a whisky or bourbon base. Once again, for a drink with so many other strong flavours, there really is no point using expensive brandy.
