The ABC Hot Cocktail is a rare treat, don’t try too many of these!
Wetherspoons is a pub renowned for its cheap food and drinks, until, that is, you go there with Lucy’s mate Karen. The pair of them have discovered ABC, a Cocktail that’s double shots of Ameretto, Baileys and Cognac, all mixed up in the same glass. Not easy to order since each double shot has to be in a separate glass but you can imagine the cost. We’re not talking double the cost of a pint, triple the cost or even quadruple.
Luckily, they can’t manage more than two before sliding off their chairs in a giggling fit.
We’ve turned it into an ABC Hot Cocktail that you can enjoy at any time you need a giggle.
Ingredients:
- 50ml Ameretto
- 50ml Baileys
- 50ml Cognac (or Brandy)
- Milk to fill
Method:
- Just add all the liquid ingredients using the milk to make up to the max fill line in your milk frother .
- Replace the lid and press start.
- Wait until your milk frother has finished and pour straight into your glass.
- I’ve tried adding a sprinkle of nutmeg, might have added too much as it clumped on the top.
- Enjoy your ABC Hot Cocktail.
Mark’s Top Tip:– Pretend you paid for Cognac but substitute any old brandy instead. If you want to last the whole night it may be better to halve the quantity of Ameretto, Baileys and Cognac and increase the milk volume to compensate. There’s no problem adding cream to the top and/or adding chocolate shavings. As an alternative, try adding coffee to single shots of Ameretto, Baileys and Grand Marnier and top off with cream. You’ve then got what is called Jen’s Creamy Sighs. The Have a Cocktail website has a similar recipe.
