Pumpkin Spice with Ginger Vodka

ginger, root, spice

Ginger is a fantastic spice which adds a fiery kick to many food and drink recipes and here it makes an ideal companion to pumpkin spice and vodka.

Ginger is reputed to be one of the healthiest spices, it is closely related to other spices such as turmeric and cardamom and is very easy to grow at home, watch one of the Youtube videos to see just how easy. Two tips that I’ve recently picked up are first, use a teaspoon to peel the outer skin off and second, keep your ginger in the freezer, it will store for months and can be peeled and grated straight from frozen. You can substitute crystallised ginger and vodka in this recipe, see Mark’s Top Tips for more information.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Put all of the ingredients into your Milk Frother and then top up with water to the max mark.
  2. Replace the lid and then press the start button and wait until finished.
  3. Meanwhile, heat up your glass using hot water from a kettle.
  4. When your milk frother has finished, empty the water out of the glass and fill with your Hot Cocktail.
  5. Enjoy your Pumpkin Spice with Ginger Vodka.

Mark’s Top Tip: If you’re having difficulties finding Ginger vodka then try these two alternatives:- 1. Replace the Ginger Vodka by adding thinly sliced ginger to your vodka or 2. Make a homemade liqueur using vodka as the base spirit and add in crystallised ginger as the flavouring. For my first test of this recipe, the only ginger we had in the house was “Very Easy Ginger” which comes shredded in a white vinegar base. The vinegar taste disappeared and I really should have strained the drink before presenting it.
