Bitter & Twisted

bitter & twisted

Playing on the ‘Tart’ flavouring of cranberry juice I thought that I would up the stakes and add in Aperol and then soften it with a touch of Winter Spice Syrup. I’m pleased to say that after a few false starts this recipe has now been perfected and is the perfect go-to pick me up. This is my Bitter & Twisted cocktail, other variations may be out there.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Put the brandy, Aperol, Winter Spice Syrup and cranberry juice into your Milk Frother and then top up with orange juice to the max mark.
  2. Replace the lid and then press the start button and wait until finished.
  3. Meanwhile, heat up the glass using hot water from your kettle.
  4. When your milk frother has finished, empty the water out of the glass and fill with your Bitter & Twisted Hot Cocktail.

Mark’s tip of the day:- You might want to add in a touch of extra sugar. I enjoyed it as it was but everyone’s taste is different. The orange notes from the Aperol and orange juice would perfectly suit a whisky or bourbon base. Once again, for a drink with so many other strong flavours, there really is no point using expensive brandy.
