Brandy Alexander, a heady mix of brandy and cream AND chocolate. What is there not to love about this taste sensation.
A Brandy Alexander is a brandy-based dessert cocktail, consisting of cognac, crème de cacao, and cream, that became popular during the early 20th century. It is a variation of an earlier, gin-based cocktail called simply an Alexander. The cocktail known as Alexander today may contain gin or brandy. Ice cream can be added for a “frozen Brandy Alexander”.
There really was no difficulty adapting this recipe to suit the milk frother.
Ingredients:
- 30ml Brandy
- 30ml Creme de Cacao
- Milk or single cream
- Whipped cream
- Chocolate shavings or nutmeg to decorate
Method:
- Put the brandy and creme de cacao into your Milk Frother and then top up with single cream or milk (or a mix of each) to the max mark.
- Press the start button and wait until finished.
- Meanwhile, heat up the glass using hot water from your kettle.
- When your milk frother has finished, empty the water out of the glass and fill with your Brandy Alexander mixture. Try and float your whipped cream on the top of your drink.
If it’s not quite to your taste, experiment. Does it need more or less brandy, creme de cacao or milk/cream? You be the judge.
Lucy’s tip of the day:- Mix it up a bit by replacing the creme de cacao with Tia Maria or Kahlua or a splash of Amaretto if you fancy it.
